Textbook Focus

Postby Jedrick Zablan 3L » Sun Dec 01, 2019 7:21 pm

Hello! The textbook puts a big focus on the sp^3 hybrid orbital. Why is that? I just want to know why it is important

The sp3 orbital seems to be the most common, with examples such as ch4 or anything with 4 atoms bonded to it.

I don't think there's any specific reason why sp3 is focused on. It is very common but there isn't anything special about it as far as I know.
