Amphiprotic vs Amphoteric

Amphiprotic vs Amphoteric
I know amphoteric means a compound can act as an acid or base, and amphiprotic means that the compound can both donate and accept a proton. So my question is what exactly is the difference between these two definitions? Don't they essentially mean the same exact thing?

Lewis acids/bases don't necessarily involve protons being donated or accepted, so something can be amphoteric without being amphiprotic.

Amphiprotic is more specific in saying that the compound can both donate and accept protons, but amphoteric just means a compound has acidic and basic properties, not the real principle of what it means to be a bronsted acid or base.

Any compound that is amphiprotic is amphoteric, however it is not true the other way around.

Same thing with lewis and bronstead definitions, both mean essentially the same thing, just one is a more specific definition

Amphiprotic is always amphoteric but amphoteric is not always amphiprotic.
