Myoglobin is important in organisms because it can carry oxygen and store them. When in need of the oxygen by the muscle, (to create energy) these stored oxygen will be used to create energy to fuel the muscles.

Myoglobin transports oxygen to muscle cells. it is then used in respiration to create energy.

Myoglobin is found in muscle cells and binds to oxygen. This binding helps provide extra oxygen, which in turn powers muscular contractions.
