### Kc

So solids and aqueous solutions can be used to solve for Kc?

I think you can use aqueous solutions and gases to solve for Kc but you don’t include solids or liquids

Kc denotes the equilibrium constant in terms of molar concentrations. Aqueous solutions have concentrations so they are included in the expression, but solids do not so they do not factor into the Kc expression.

### Re: Kc

To add on, for a homogeneous aqueous mixture, we can simply include all the aqueous species when calculating K or Q. However, if there is a heterogeneous equilibria, chances are there is a solid or liquid species in solution. Hence, you will have to be careful to exclude all liquid and solid species when calculating K or Q.

Solids & liquids are excluded when solving for Kc. Only gases and aqueous solutions are included.
