Kc can also be used with gases, I think in the problem they will specifically ask for Kc/Kp, otherwise, Lyndon told us in a workshop that Kc is usually used.

You can use Kc with gases, but then they would usually provide the Kc for the gas already so that you can find one of the products or reactants, or they give you the molarity of the products and reactants. If they don't, then typically you use Kp

usually Kc is used, but i believe the problem would specify which one to use. you can also tell by the information given by a problem

I think Kc can be used with both but I think usually the problem will specify whether to find Kc or Kp. :)

Kc can be used with gases if they give the concentrations of reactants and products in molarity.
