I really like Lydon's (spelt his name wrong) workshop on Monday's in Covel. He gives you a worksheet and eventually the answers and it usually covers most (if not all) the material on the test

There is an announcement on the class website that says that the test is on chemical equilibrium & acid-base equilibria. I think a good way to study for the test is to do as much practice as possible to get exposed to a variety of different questions. If possible, try to do all of the problems that are on the outlines.

^^ a lot of homework problems should help because Dr. Lavelle often gets problems from homework and put them on the test

I would definitely do as many of the homework problems as you can, as the TA's make the tests and they model them after the homework problems.

I would read the textbook first as it is the most in depth review of the lecture material you could get. I would then review the lecture notes then do the homework, going over how to approach the homework problems if you get them wrong.

I would recommend doing all the assigned homework problems, reading the textbook, and going over the concepts on the outlines posted on the class website.

You should work on the practice homework problems and review your lecture notes. You could even work on problems together with your friends and go over what you guys need more help/clarification on.

I did not take Dr. Lavelle's class last quarter; however, I plan on making sure I know how to do the problems given in outline 1 and 2. My TA suggested just to get as many practice problems done as possible because that is the best way to study 14B material. Last quarter for 14A I did read the textbook the whole quarter, I don't think it benefited me as much as if I just stuck to the lecture notes.

I think the best tip would be to do as many of the homework problems as possible to better understand the material and test yourself on all the material covered in lectures

Yes, we're being tested on chemical equilibrium and acids and bases. I'd review lecture notes and examples and do problems in the textbook.

I often study by doing several if not all of the problems outlined in the syllabus and reading the given chapters in the textbook. Also, if time permits, the peer learning sessions could be extremely helpful.

I like to read the textbook chapters because they definitely do break down the topics and also I like to use Khan Academy to study for the tests. You can search up chemical equilibrium or acids and bases on khan academy and the lesson plans for them will pop up. I like using this resource because they go step by step and build up the concepts so you understand where everything comes and how the concepts relate to one another. I hope that helps!

I study by doing homework problems and reading the textbook. Just make sure you're well adapted to the situations that might arise and you will be fine.

Last quarter for 14A with Lavelle, I did all the practice problems on the syllabus for the topics we would be tested on and I found that to be very helpful!

The video modules are available on the class website too and those really helped me over winter break, so use those too to study and review!

Like everyone else said, do all the homework questions, but do it to clarify any questions that you may have on a topic, not for completion.
I found Lyndon's workshops and review sessions (especially before the midterm and final) to be the most helpful out of all the available resources!

The homework problems at the end of every focus section are the most helpful because they combine lots of topics into 1 problem like the test. (i.e. 4.21, 4.43, 6.43)

I highly recommend the Organic Chemistry Tutor. Search him up on YouTube and the topic you are looking for, and there is a very high chance there will be a video for the topic you need.

Sorry for the late reply! Yes, I would recommend mainly the last homework problems of every outline because those are more reflective of the problems on the test since they are more complex as they combine more topics into one problem. (the HW problems at the end of the focus chapters that do not include a letter in them)

Ohh, okay thank you! I was definitely doing more of the actual homework problems (with the letters) but I think I'll try doing the ones without the letters in preparation for the final. Thank you so much for the tip!
