Topics on Test 1
I know this is a bit away, but does anyone what topics will be covered on Test 1? Thank you!

Re: Topics on Test 1
Definitely the topics on Outline 1, but I don't know if we'll get to Outline 2 by the time of the test.
Re: Topics on Test 1
I think it will be things from both outline one and outline two since we covered the main ideas from outline one this week.

Re: Topics on Test 1
He usually will let us know in lecture. I assume everything in outline 1 and all other material covered during lecture up until the test, unless otherwise stated. Your TAs might also be able to provide a more definite answer. Hope this helps!
Re: Topics on Test 1
The tests will be given starting Tuesday of week 3, so I imagine whatever we cover in these first two weeks will be on there. I would pay attention to how far he gets in lecture and whatever your TA reviews in discussion

Definitely chemical equilibrium+ whatever else we learn before the test. Ask your TA+Lavelle

Outline 1 and everything mentioned in the assigned readings/homework assignments/lectures. I believe that test 1 will hold us accountable for everything up until the lecture right before the test

Re: Topics on Test 1
Most likely outline 1 and some of outline 2, whatever he covers right before the test is on the test I think.

Re: Topics on Test 1
It will definitely consist of Outline 1 and possibly outline 2 considering tests will begin week 3.

Re: Topics on Test 1
Test 1 will most likely cover the objectives from outline 1, which deals with chemical equilibrium. To study I would look over the problem sets along with the videos posted on the class websites. I would also make sure to do all the problems listed by the outlines to make sure that you have a firm grasp on the materials.

Re: Topics on Test 1
I heard it was going to be on objectives from outline one for sure, but I was told it may not be all of the objectives in outline 2 if all the material isn't covered in lecture.

Re: Topics on Test 1
I believe it will be all of "chemical equilibrium" and whatever we get to for "acids and bases" since those are the material for the first two weeks.

I believe the test will cover chemical equilibrium up to acids and bases (outlines 1 and 2).

Test 1 will most likely cover the entirety of chemical equilibrium and part of outline 2.

Re: Topics on Test 1
At this point, everything we've done in lecture which seems to cover both outline 1 and 2.

Re: Topics on Test 1
The test will cover everything we learned from outlines 1 and 2 (from chemical equilibrium to acids and bases). Anything we learn after that(from week 3) won't appear on the test.
Re: Topics on Test 1
I believe that my TA told me the first test would cover both equilibria as well as what we learned up until Wednesday about Acids/Bases.

Re: Topics on Test 1
Based off of the syllabus, it appears that it would cover the first two topics/section (chemical equilibrium and acid/base equilibrium). In sum, it is the material covered in lecture up until Wednesday, because in class Friday Lavelle went over example problems.

Re: Topics on Test 1
Yeah, it is everything in outlines 1 and 2. Make sure you know the ICE table, Le'chat, and how to manipulate the important equations, Also, pH is very important.
Re: Topics on Test 1
All of outline 1 and outline 2 will be on this test, which includes ICE table, Ka, Kb, and Le Chatlier's. The best way to study is to do the outline problems.

Re: Topics on Test 1
Not sure if this was covered in section, but are there specific equations/formulas we should for sure now for test 1??
(e.g. pH + pOH = kw)

In my discussion my TA said we should know everything regarding chemical equilibrium and acids/bases

Re: Topics on Test 1
According to my TA, we should know:
1. Chemical equilibrium constant
2. ICE table
3. Le Chatelier’s Principle
4. Ideal Gas Law
5. Equilibrium for weak acid, base, pH calculation, quadratic equations.
6. Manipulations of Kc
Hope this helps!

The first test should include everything from Outline 1. I don't believe that we started Outline 2, but if we did then also part of Outline 2.
