Pressure and Enthalpy
How does the pressure of the surrounding environment affect the enthalpy of the system?

Re: Pressure and Enthalpy
Pressure and enthalpy are directly proportional so as pressure increases so does enthalpy, and vice versa.

Re: Pressure and Enthalpy
when pressure increases, enthalpy increases; and when pressure decreases, enthalpy decreases

Re: Pressure and Enthalpy
When you are calculating enthalpy, I'm pretty sure the pressure has to be constant. Otherwise the changes in pressure would change the enthalpies as well.

Re: Pressure and Enthalpy
Pressure and enthalpy have a directly proportional relationship with each other, so if one changes, the other will change in response.

Re: Pressure and Enthalpy
Pressure has a direct relationship with enthalpy which is why it is usually easier to calculate enthalpies at STP, using 1 atm as standard.
