which way will an equilibrium reaction shift if the temperature is increased during an exothermic reaction?

If temperature is increased during an exothermic reaction, the formation of reactants is favored and the equilibrium constant will decrease.

In addition, icreasing the temperature will shift the reaction equilibrium to the left.

In an exothermic reaction, the heat is on the products side of the reaction since the reaction is releasing heat. Therefore, when you increase the heat, the reactant side will be favored and the equilibrium will shift to the left.

since exothermic rxns release heat, you can imagine the opposite happen if you add heat. it would be harder for the rxn to go, therefore shifting rxn left and also lowering the K value (P/R)

In an exothermic reaction, heat is found on the right side of the equation, therefore, by adding heat, you would shift the reaction away from where there is an excess so it would shift to the left (reactants).

In an exothermic reactant you can treat heat like a product so if you "added product" (increased heat) the equilibrium would shift left towards the reactants

left because in an exothermic reaction, heat will start on the right side because deltaH is negative, and heating favors reactant formation

in an exothermic reaction, increasing heat shifts towards reactants. in endothermic reaction, head shifts towards products.

If temperature is increased during an exothermic reaction, the formation of reactants is favored. If temperature is increased during an endothermic reaction, the formation of products is favored.

If the temperature is increased in an endothermic reaction, the reverse reaction is favored. Adding heat to a system that overall released heat in the forward direction does not favor the formation of more product.

Exothermic indicates that the heat is in the products, and you can treat heat as a molecule in a sense. So if the heat is increased then you can see that the reaction will shift to the left
