Different Enthalpy Strategies
Is there any benefit to using one strategy for calculating bond enthalpies over another? Or will we be asked to use certain strategies based on what the question is asking?

They should all give you the net enthalpy or Hf. You should use them based on what information a question gives you.

If I remember correctly, using the strategy with the bond enthalpies is the least accurate method so there is a benefit to using the other two.

Depending on what's given in the question, you would decide how to calculate your bond enthalpy. Some methods may not be usable if you don't have enough info given, or just information which would allow you to solve in a particular way.

Lavelle said that the bond enthalpies is the easiest but least accurate. Therefore I feel like he doesn't want us to use that.
