What makes a reaction reversible?

I think technically all reactions can be reversible when put under certain conditions, but if you mean when we double-arrow a reaction I believe it is because it doesn't fully dissociate or the reverse reaction is likely to occur

a reaction is reversible when the products of a chemical reaction can convert back to reactants. this is commonly shown in equilibrium reactions in which reactants and products form simultaneously. reversible reactions are written with a double arrow denoting the forward and reverse reactions

A chemical rxn is reversible when it can convert back to the reactants. For example, combustion is irreversible since its entirety was "consumed." For reversible rxns, the reactants are never fully consumed or dissociated/ionized.
