Heat is a transfer of energy due to a specific temperature whereas enthalpy is the change in the amount of heat in a system at constant pressure.

Enthalpy is the amount of heat transferred during a reaction at constant pressure while heat is a form of energy that can be transferred. When no work is being done on the system, heat and enthalpy can be used interchangeably.

enthalpy is the amount of total heat in the system. It can be associated with a particular process––such as formation, sublimation, vaporization. Also, keep in mind that enthalpy is a state function. Heat, on the other hand is a form of energy that can be transferred from one thing to another. Enthalpy has to do with the change in temperature.

According to the textbook, enthalpy is a state property; a change in enthalpy is equal to the heat transferred at constant pressure. Heat on the other hand is the energy that is transferred as the result of a temperature difference between a system and its surroundings.

Heat is the form of energy transfer from a high temperature to a lower temperature. Enthalpy is the heat transfer at a constant pressure.
