Midterms

Postby Ben 1B » Sun Oct 27, 2019 6:14 pm

Are midterms cumulative of the entire quarter or just everything we have learned after each previous test?

Midterms are just the prior info given before the test. I believe the finals are cumulative.

So from fundamentals to whatever topic before the midterm?

Does anyone know what the next test will be covering?

I think it's going to include the stuff we have learned after the midterm, basically everything after 2D.

I believe the next test happening on week 8 will have everything from the second part of 2d to the information we get to right before the next test.

Yes, from what I know that is correct.

The first midterm will include everything that we have learned before it, including the things that were on test one. That is at least the way that the midterm for chem 14a with Dr. Lavelle was.

The midterm includes everything we have learned up until that date, which includes material from Test 1 and up until the midterm date. The final is cumulative. Tests 1 and 2 only test on certain topics, so they aren't cumulative.

I think the midterm will cover everything we have learned up to it thus know everything from the first test as well.

The midterm will cover everything before it. Test 2 will cover everything after the midterm to the test and then the final covers it all.

As far as I know, anything we have learned in class, unless he specifically said otherwise, is fair game to show up on the midterm.

Do you know until which focus of outline 4?

Midterms and of course finals are cumulative. The only tests that cover what we have learned after the previous tests are test 1 and test 2.

The outlines are a great resource to find practice problems and use as a study plan/guide.

Additionally, attending all the (one per each topic) review sessions will also help you figure out what material will be covered and where you are. Sometimes the textbook can feel a bit too broad.

I'm pretty sure Dr. Lavelle said that we will be done with outline 4 this week/soon and most of it will be on the midterm so I would cover that material too.

Lavelle's website says that the midterm includes equilibrium, acid and base, thermodynamics, and thermochemistry so i assume it is cumulative

Yes, the midterm will be cumulative, covering the topics from equilibrium to thermodynamics
