isochoric/isometric: $\Delta V = 0$
isothermal: $\Delta T = 0$
isobaric: $\Delta P = 0$

### Bomb Calorimeter

When a question asks to solve the internal energy of a bomb Calorimeter, do we just assume that delta U is equal to q and thus ignore work?

I thought so because the pressure and volume is constant!

Yes because work is equal to pressure x $\Delta$V and in a bomb calorimeter, pressure and volume are constant so w=0.

Yes. In addition, bomb calorimeter is an isolated system, so neither the matter nor the energy could be exchanged between the system (inside of bomb calorimeter) and the surrounding (outside of the bomb calorimeter). Therefore, the internal energy of bomb calorimeter is constant.

### Re: Bomb Calorimeter

A bomb calorimeter is a closed system, which means that there is no net change in volume. Since there is no change in volume there isn't any work being done and the change in internal energy (delta U) should be equal to q

### Re: Bomb Calorimeter

Bomb calorimeters keep volume constant, and since work occurs due to expansion or compression, work equals 0. So delta U is solely in terms of q.
