### Variables

I'm having trouble mentally keeping track of all the variables we use in thermochemistry.
U= internal energy
P= pressure
V= volume
H= enthalpy ; ΔH= change in enthalpy, which sometimes is equal to q(??)
q= heat ; qp= heat under constant pressure, qv= heat under constant volume
w= work
C= heat capacity
Am I missing something? Thank you :)

Those are all correct. You will need to add S, which is entropy, and W, which is degeneracy. The equation sheet will be useful because if you understand the equations, then you will likely be able to deduce which term corresponds to which meaning.

As someone else said I think it would be a good thing to familiarize yourself with the Constants and Equations sheet that's on Dr. Lavelle's website and it is likely that you will be able to deduce what each variable is!

I was talking to a past student and they said that you should familiar yourself with the variables and equation sheet prior to the test. You will have a lot of equations in front of you but it’s important to know which equation and variables to use!
