when is w=0 and when is q=0?
when is w=0 and when is q=0? what are the key words that indicate these two conditions?

Work is 0 when there is no change in volume (isochoric). Heat is 0 for an adiabatic process, which will usually be explicitly stated.

In an adiabatic process, heat does not enter or leave the system. Energy transfer happens only through work, so Q=0.

W=0 when the volume of the work done on a gas is constant. Q=0 when there is no heat exchanged (happens if the container is thermally insulated).

Also, if w = 0, the internal energy of the system is determined only by q. If q = 0, the internal energy of the system is determined only by w.
