memorizing things?
are there any specific values we need to memorize for this midterm? like heat capacities and whatnot?

Re: memorizing things?
I don't think there are any values we need to memorize for this midterm. It is always very helpful to me to go over the constants and equations sheet before exams as a little study guide of sorts. We don't know how to use all of the equations yet, but it is still a helpful review of some of the topics we have covered so far. https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... ations.pdf

Re: memorizing things?
Memorizing equations is not required as they will be given to us, but I would recommend memorizing the units for certain things (delta H, q, S, etc.) so you don't get points knocked off for mixing up units since those will not necessarily be given.

Re: memorizing things?
I am at Lyndon's review session and he said we won't be provided the equation for degeneracy (W=# of microstates# of particles), so be sure to memorize that!

Re: memorizing things?
Anyone have good tips for organizing variables and memorizing which are used for different questions? This unit has very similar variables and similar equations and it's confusing.

Re: memorizing things?
Everything is given but you would have to know what each symbol/letter means.

Re: memorizing things?
All equations and constants are given on the first page of our test. However, you will need to know what each symbol or letter means, and you'll need to know the units for each symbol or letter.

Is the .15 in 273.15 important enough to include in sig fig calculations when converting between K and C?

Re: memorizing things?
It doesn't greatly affect the final answer, but you might as well use 273.15.

Re: memorizing things?
i think all the equations are given to us? You will have "memorize"/understand some conceptual things because not everything is calculations

Re: memorizing things?
you don't need to memorize any equations bc they're mainly given but how they are applied to the concept, you'll need to understand that

Re: memorizing things?
Most equations are given to us on the equation sheet, but make sure you know what the variables represent.

Re: memorizing things?
do we need to know the standard formations for calculating delta H or will they be given to us if there is a question that requires them?
