When does deltaH = q. I remember hearing that q always deltaH, but the reverse is not true? I am unsure if I heard correctly and why this is so/

q = ∆H(rxn) if the reaction occurs under conditions of constant pressure, just by the definition of enthalpy change (the heat absorbed/released in a reaction at constant pressure).

I believe you have it switched. deltaH is always q, while q is = to deltaH at constant pressure

I know that q is not always delta H, but it can if it is at constant pressure. But why is delta H always q?

Delta H is equal to q when no work is done onto a system, such as a constant pressure
