How do you combine half reactions?
Do you put all the reactants of each reaction together and all the products of each reaction together?

Re: How do you combine half reactions?
Yes, and the electrons in both equations would cancel out with each other so you'll just be left with the products and reactants.

Yes, but you may need to multiply the half reactions by constants in order to get electrons or repeating reactants and products equal in order to cancel out completely.

Re: How do you combine half reactions?
So would this be similar to how in Hess's law we would add intermediate equations to make the final reaction?
Re: How do you combine half reactions?
^You could say that. I think combining half reactions is less about cancelling out reactants/products and more about fitting them on both sides of the reaction, but it's the same concept
