Re: Whats the difference between oxidizing agent and oxiadation
Oxidation is the transfer of electrons in a reaction; the oxidizing agent is the reactant that is reduced.
Re: Whats the difference between oxidizing agent and oxiadation
oxidation is losing electron, I believe oxidizing agent is the one that is reduced because it oxidizes the other molecule by taking the electrons

Oxidation is a process of losing electrons. An oxidizing agent is a reactant that removes electrons from other reactants during a redox reaction

oxidation: loss of electrons
oxidizing agent: causes oxidation and gets reduced in the process

Oxidation means losing electrons, while the oxidizing agent is doing the oxidizing to the other species, so it is then being reduced.

Oxidizing agent is the element that does the oxidation(taking away electrons from another element, and therefore the oxidizing agent is reduced). Oxidation is when electrons are lost, which represents the element that the oxidizing agent is acting upon.
