E cell

Postby Ellis Song 4I » Sat Feb 22, 2020 11:17 am

Is the E cell given to us or is it in an appendix or will be have to solve for it?

Standard reduction potentials of half-reactions will be given to us. We will have to solve for E cell given these values.

We calculate E cell using the equation Ecell = Ecathode - Eanode. Ecathode and Eanode are taken from the table of reduction potentials that will be given to us during the test.

the E cell can be given in a problem, but usually we have to solve it using the standard reduction potentials from the appendix

there is an equation for E cell to solve but there will be information to find the variables in the equation.

I think that it will be given to us. Considering they were given on the midterm, I think that it will be provided.
