Reducing Mass of Electrode
Does halving the mass of the electrode affect the cell potential? If so, how?

Re: Reducing Mass of Electrode
Halving the mass of an electrode will not affect the cell potential because cell potential is an intensive property, meaning it is not affected by the quantity of a species present.

Re: Reducing Mass of Electrode
Changing the mass of the electrode shouldn't affect the cell potential since cell potential is only affected by things like concentration, which solids don't play a part in.

Re: Reducing Mass of Electrode
Halving the mass of the electrode should not affect the cell potential because voltage difference is the same and does not depend on how many times the reaction occurs/how much of the substance that makes up the electrode is present.

Re: Reducing Mass of Electrode
The electrodes is referring to the solid parts, and changing their masses does not affect the cell potential because solids are not included when calculating Q.

Re: Reducing Mass of Electrode
Changing the mass of the electrode doesn't affect cell potential. Changing the concentration DOES change cell potential.
