Title, but what is the purpose of it??
What are the equations used to derive it used for?

Re: What's the purpose of Van't Hoff?
By using the Van't Hoff equation, you can determine K for a reaction at a certain temperature if you already know the K at a different temperature. Likewise, you can find a value for temperature of a K if that is your unknown. Primarily, this equation relates T and K
Re: What's the purpose of Van't Hoff?
The Van't Hoff equation allows you to calculate the equilibrium constant or temperature of an equation using another equation.
It is derived using the equations Detla G=deltaH-TdeltaS and deltaG=-RTlnK. Putting these together gives you the van't Hoff equation!

Re: What's the purpose of Van't Hoff?
Van't Hoff's equation is used to relates changes in equilibrium to the change in temperature. So you can solve for Keq if you know the equilibrium constant of another reaction.
