How does work relate to Gibbs Free Energy?

the maximum work is equal to the gibbs free energy. Gibbs basically indicates how much "free" energy there is to do work.

When a system changes from a well-defined initial state to a well-defined final state, the Gibbs free energy, ΔG, equals the work done/exchanged by the system with its surroundings, minus the work of the pressure forces.

The Gibbs free energy of a reversible reaction is equal to the max work that can be done at const. temperature and pressure
