Moles vs molecules

I was wondering what is the difference between moles and molecules are. I thought of this during a step up session because the ua asked for it but I was a bit confused on the conceptual definition of it. I know you have to like multiply by avogardros number and I searched it up online but was still a bit confused and wanted some clarification.

Hi! A molecule is a group of two or more atoms held together by a bond, and a mole is a unit of measurement (one mole of objects is 6.022 x 10^23 of those objects). Multiplying the number of moles by Avogadro's number will get you the number of molecules (or atoms depending on the problem).

A molecule is a group of atoms. Examples include water and ammonia.

A mole is Avogadro's number of anything, just like a dozen is 12 of something.

A mole is a unit of measurement and a molecule is a group of atoms bonded together. Avogadro's number plays into this since a mole is equivalent to 6.022x10^23 particles(or molecules) of an element or compound.

A mole is a unit representative of 6.022x10^23 atoms, which is the calculated amount of atoms in 12 g of a carbon-12 isotope. Moles are used in chemical formulas, molar ratios, and other chemical processes to help break down and quantify otherwise minuscule values.

A molecule is a group of atoms bonded together; the smallest fundamental unit of a chemical compound taking part in a chemical reaction.

In short, a mole is a unit of measurement, and a molecule is a group of bonded atoms.

A molecule is a compound made from atoms chemically bonded together. A mole is a number used to provide the quantity of a group of things, specifically 6.022x10^23. This can include molecules, but it really can be anything, though you likely won't encounter this measurement in the macroscopic world, as things at our level don't tend to occur in groups that large.

Molecules are simply groups of atoms bonded together.

Moles, on the other hand, are units of measurement we use to define quantities of molecules/atoms. Moles represent 6.02x10^23 (Avogrado's Number) of a chemical unit, just as a half-dozen represents 6 of something.

As most people above have mentioned, a molecule is composed of atoms bonded together. Moles is a unit of measurement, and if it helps, you can almost think of it like how "a dozen" is used! We say a dozen of something in order to say there's 12, and in this case we say there are certain number of moles as a unit of measurement!

Hi! Molecules are atoms that are bound together in a group. A mole is essentially a unit representing set quantity of anything (6.022x10^23 “things”).

As others have said before, a mole is a collection of items whereas a molecule is a group of atoms bound together. However, I find it helpful to think of moles as ratios rather than their literal definition in certain problems. For example, if you had 2 moles of molecule X and 3 moles of molecule Y, you can think of it as a ratio whereby for every 2 molecules of X there are 3 molecules of Y.

A simple way to think about it is that a molecule is one unit, and a mole is 6.02*10^23 units. A molecule of water is H2O (two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom). It is unreasonably small to weigh and measure for most of our calculations, so we use the mole. A mole of water (6.02*10^23 atoms of water) weighs about 18 grams in real life. Moles essentially simplify our calculations with real world measurements, without having to use ridiculously small numbers to measure actual atoms.

To visualize moles vs molecules easier, I think of molecules as groups of bonded atoms(CO2, H20, O2) that are the units that make up moles. For example, 6.022x10^23 molecules of O2 would make one mole of O2. Essentially, a mole is a larger unit of measurement that we can use instead of the mass of a single molecule, which would be too small to easily use. Also keep in mind that a mole can be 6.022x10^23 molecules or atoms.

A molecule is a group of multiple atoms bonded together, while a mole is 6.0221409e23 atoms of any substance. For example, a mole of the molecule C6H12O6 would consist of 6.0221409e23 atoms.

Moles are a counting unit. Just like how a dozen eggs are 12 eggs, 1 mole of atoms/molecules is 6.022x10^23 atoms/molecules.

A mole is just an amount. If you wanted to, you could have a "mole of moles", however that many moles would form a planet larger than earth. Moles are just a unit we use to quantify large numbers of little things, and it was created essentially to ensure that one mole of carbon-12 atoms weighs exactly 12 grams. It's a human construct, just like a dozen, however it is an extremely useful on in chemistry.
