Lecture #24 Ligands and Complexes
Around 31:17 of Lecture #24, Professor Lavelle says, "If there are four bonds, well then, it's either going to be square planar and tetrahedral, and you will not be expected to know which it is. You will be expected to know that if there is four bonds, it's either octahedral or square planar." Just clarifying, did he mean tetrahedral when he said octahedral? or was he talking about electron geometry? Thank you!

Octahedral wouldn't make sense if the atom is forming four bonds, so I'm pretty sure he meant tetrahedral or square planar.

Yeah, I think he meant to say tetrahedral; he probably just misspoke.
