Final Content
Has there been any confirmation on whether the Final will be truly cumulative (so the material covered is fairly distributed from across the quarter), or is it more end-loaded (so cumulative, but with a heavier emphasis on the newer stuff?

Re: Final Content
Cumulative; the more time / focus we had on one topic, the more prevalent it'll be is what Dr. Lavelle said I believe
Re: Final Content
I think he mentioned that since quantum was our biggest section, the test would have a bit more quantum questions as well.

Re: Final Content
I believe it is confirmed. Material will be proportional to the amount of time that was spent on the topic in the lectures.

Re: Final Content
yeah it's confirmed that it'll be cumulative. this is a given, but i would also focus a lot of time on the sections you forgot/don't really understand

Re: Final Content
The final is cumulative. There are 30 questions, six points each and the content is going to be based off what we spent the most time on.

Re: Final Content
I believe that Dr. Lavelle has said that the final will be cumulative, however the section we will have the most questions about is quantum problems.

Re: Final Content
I think it will be cumulative, but with more focus on what we spent more time on, as Dr. Lavelle said there will be a heavy emphasis on quantum which we spent a lot of time on compared to other topics.

My TA said that there would be more of an emphasis on topics we spent more time on.

Re: Final Content
He states earlier that the final is cumulative and the subjects we spent more time on will have more questions in the final. For example, we spent the most time of the quantum section, so you can expect to have more questions about that topic.

I believe he also said we spent less time on coordination compounds so try not to stress about that topic as much as other ones.

Re: Final Content
Yeah, it will be cumulative and there will be 30 questions each worth 6 points (180 points total) and we have a total of 95 minutes.

Re: Final Content
I heard somewhere that it is cumulative, but that there will be a focus in the quantum world because that was a big topic for us.

Re: Final Content
The final would be cumulative but there would be more questions on the topics we spent the most time on. It is expected that there would be more questions on the quantum world because we spent multiple days learning about it.

Re: Final Content
Lavelle said that most of the material would be on the quantum world since that's what we spent the most time on. The other material will probably be distributed based on how much time we spent on it as well.

Re: Final Content
Yes it will be cumulative, relative to the amount of time we spent on it. So early/ late quantum will be pretty prevalent will everything else sprinkled in.

Re: Final Content
Yes it's cumulative! Dr. Lavelle said that it would correspond to how much time we spent on certain outlines (topics), so going over the syllabus would be your best bet.
