A wedge means it is coming towards you (picture straight out of the paper). And the dash means that it is going directly away from you (straight behind the paper). The wedge and the dash are in the same plane, just in opposite directions. Its a 2d representation of where the atoms or molecules are in 3d space.

Like said above, the wedge means it towards you and the dash is away from you

The dark wedge means it's coming towards you through the paper/screen and the dashed wedge means it's going away from you through the paper/screen. It is used to denote the three dimensionality of certain molecular shapes. Hope this helps!

Wedge = to you
Dash = away from u

This helps visualize it.

the wedges and dashes are used to help us visualize the 3D structures so wedge means that it is coming towards you and the dash means that it is going away from you. I hope this helps!!

wedge is towards you and dash is away from you; it's used to represent a structure in 3D space

Those are used to represent 3D structures! Imagine the wedge means the bond is coming towards you, and the dashed means its going away from you.

A solid wedge represents the bond closest to you. The dashed wedge represents the one furthest away from you.

As others have said above, wedges and dashes are used to help you visualize the shape and structure of the molecule. If you had a 3-d model of the molecule in front of you, a wedge indicates that the bond is facing towards you while a dash indicates that the bond is facing away from you.

Hi, the wedge means towards you while the dash means away from you. Hope this helps!

Hi! The wedge indicates the bond coming towards you while the dashed line represents the bond extending further away from your perspective. They’re both supposed to help us visualize the orientation of the bonds in three dimensional space

If you're staring straight at it, a wedge is away from you and a dash is towards you. Sometimes you'll see a combined notation referring to the bond being either in different conformations.

the solid wedge means that when you are standing straight in front of a molecule that atom or lone pair is coming straight at you. A dashed line means while in the same position that atom or lone pair is shooting straight behind you.
