Pseudo equilibrium

Postby Aschreck 2G » Sun Feb 28, 2016 9:09 pm

Can this only done for the forward reaction? Also, does pseudo equilibrium involve the slow step or the fast step?

Please review your note. In lecture, we talked about the condition where it can be applied. It is when the first step is fast and the second one is slow so that the first step achieves equilibrium (because it's fast so it quickly get to euquilibrium) It is not necessary mean that the first step is always fast and be assumed to be at equilibrium.
