Chemistry Community Points

Postby Melissa Folkerts 2C » Fri Mar 11, 2016 12:12 am

If I answered/asked multiple posts in one week, but missed a couple weeks is it still possible for me to get the full 10 points? In other words, can we just total ten posts to get the points? Thanks!

It is on a weekly basis, so it doesn't matter how many times you post in a week, but the consistency of posting each week. If you didn't post one week, you wont get the point for that weeks online discussion. Sorry :(

How many posts are required to get the point?

I believe it's one post per week to ensure that you're getting discussion credit for that week, although I'm sure it doesn't hurt to post more than that!

I was also wondering, though, if the posts must be made during the week days, or if we still get credit as long as the post is made before the next week starts (before the Monday of the following week)?

Yes, you just have to post before midnight on Sunday to get credit :)
Also, you get one point per post, so to get maximum points you have to post 10 times!

Wait, by midnight Sunday night, does that mean the midnight as Saturday turns to Sunday or as Sunday turns to Monday? Sorry if that's a silly question or if the question isn't clear. I just wanted to be sure I understood the response correctly.

I'm pretty sure the deadline is midnight from Sunday night to Monday morning because the "week" technically starts with the class on Monday.

What if we forget to post a week? Does that negatively affect my grade?

You can get 1 point each week, so missing a week means you lost a point out of 10 possible.

Do we just post anything to earn points? or do we have to post videos and jokes only?

Posting only jokes all quarter will not result in full credit.
Meaningful content is needed in the form of questions, answers, and/or discussion on topics covered in the syllabus.
