Hmwk Problem 1.9
I was wondering if anyone could help me with problem 1.9 in the textbook. I'm not sure exactly how I'm supposed to deduce everything in the table from the information given. It doesn't seem like enough to go off of. Thanks

Try using a combination of E=h*frequency and c=frequency*wavelength. Using these equations you should be able to fill out the table.

Also, if you look up a chart with the different wavelengths of light, it will help you figure out what activity the college student is doing, for example, when the wavelength is 340nm, that's in the UV range, so we can assume that he's getting a sun tan.

Going off of looking at the chart to figure out what wavelengths apply to which light on the spectrum...should we memorize those for future quizzes and tests or will a similar chart be given?
