## Combustion Products - Physical States

$w=-P\Delta V$
and
$w=-\int_{V_{1}}^{V_{2}}PdV=-nRTln\frac{V_{2}}{V_{1}}$

### Combustion Products - Physical States

In 8.93, we need to write the combustion reaction for C6H6 (l).

Are the products for all combustion reactions always in the gas phase (H2O gas + CO2 gas)?

### Re: Combustion Products - Physical States

The products should always be in the gas phase because the products are always CO_2 and H_2O and possibly other compounds in the gas form. In general, combustion is burning and when something is burned as long as it reaches chemical equilibrium, the products should always be gases.
