### 15.65

Could someone please explain to me part C of number 65 on chapter 15 homework? Why would increasing the temperature increase the rate constant of the reaction with the higher activation barrier more than it will the rate constant of the reaction with the lower energy barrier?

I was wondering about that as well.
Is it because K=Ae^(Ea/RT)
Hence, the larger the Ea, the the larger the increase in K when T is raised?

Yes. At low activation energies, the exponential term is very small and not very dependent on temperature. At high activation energies, the rate is greatly affected by the temperature.
