Im working on some of the problems and when it gives you the molecular formula does it matter which way you start the line structure? Some problems like the one attached will start the carbon lines in order of the formula, others will show the triple bond first even though in the molecular formula the triple bond isn't for a few carbons down..
Problem 1(12c) Draw the lone structures and give the systematic names for the alkenes or alkynes
CH3CHC(CH3)C(CH)3
I have attached my line structure and the solutions, would mine be marked wrong?

I don't think direction of where you start your line structure should matter

Re: Does order matter in Line structure?
i also do not think the order matters as long as it is obvious where your drawing starts and ends

It does not matter which way you start the line structure.
The connectivity in your structure is correct, but you did not draw a line structure. Line structures have only lines and no H.
