Phenol groups

Postby rachelmackenzie3H » Wed Mar 15, 2017 10:39 pm

Are phenol groups fair game for the exam?

I am not 100% sure, but the class syllabus, under the category of functional groups, gives a certain list of functional groups, which phenol is not a part of. Check page 7 of the course reader and check the assigned problems for that section to be sure.

Phenol is a benzene ring in which one H is replaced by an OH. This is a functional group that is studied in Chem 14C and 14D.
