Why -CH(CH3)2 higher priority then -CH2CH2?

Why does -CH(CH3)2 have greater priority than -CH2CH2CH2Br? Is it because of its iso structure?

Because the 1st C has two C's attached to it. For -CH2CH2CH2Br, the 1st C has one C attached to it.
