## Units for Rate Constants

$aR \to bP, Rate = -\frac{1}{a} \frac{d[R]}{dt} = \frac{1}{b}\frac{d[P]}{dt}$

### Units for Rate Constants

Hey everyone,

I had a quick question. What are the units for the rate constant k for 0, 1st, and 2nd order reactions? I know each one is different, but I can't remember what they are.

Thank you and good luck tomorrow!!!

### Re: Units for Rate Constants

Assuming time is in seconds:
Zero order: k has units M/s
First order: k has units s^-1
Second order: k has units M^-1 s^-1
