Do the elements that are not the central atom in a trigonal bipyramidal molecule always have to be the same? If not, what are some examples of molecules that are trigonal bipyramidal where the non-central atoms are different from one another?

The non-central atoms in a trigonal bipyramidal molecule don’t have to be the same. For example PF3Cl2, where P is the central atom and both F and Cl surround it.

Trigonal bipyramidal is just the ideal structure when there are 5 regions of electron density. Which atoms compose those regions does not matter as much.
