### 4.35

How is what 4.33 and 4.35 are asking different? I was able to do 4.33 but 4.35 is confusing me so I must be missing something in the question. Is "state the hybridization" different from "identify the hybrid orbitals"?

I believe they are a similar question. If it asks to state/identify, you can provide sp^3 for CH4 because it has 4 electron regions as a tetrahedral figure. Maybe the solutions manual could help if you are still stuck on it. Hope that helps!

4.33 and 4.35 are asking the same thing; the wording is slightly different, but "state the hybridization" and "identify the hybrid orbitals" mean the same thing. The solutions manual answers are in the same format for both questions. You would just answer with the hybridization of the specified atom, i.e. sp2 or sp3d.
