### What is 1/K?

What does 1/K (equilibrium constant) mean?
What would a question ask when requiring us to give 1/K?

It is the inverse of K for that reaction.
Meaning if the forward reaction has an equilibrium constant equal to 10, then the reverse reaction has an equilibrium constant equal to 0.1.

if the equilibrium constant for a reaction is K then the equilibrium constant for its reverse reaction is 1/K.

### Re: What is 1/K?

If a reaction is reversed, for example:
A + B ⇌ C is flipped to C ⇌ A + B, and you are given the K of the original reaction, and you are asked for the K value of the second reaction, you simple get the reciprocal of the original K value.
Hope this helps!

### Re: What is 1/K?

1/K is the reciprocal of K for that reaction
if you know the value of K of the forward reaction (for example 5) and the exercise asks you to find the K of the reverse reaction, you can find it by calculating the reciprocal of K of the forward reaction (in our example 1/5 which is 0.2)
