Bomb and Coffee Cup Calorimeter

How is the volume fixed in the bomb calorimeter and not in the coffee cup calorimeter?

I will discuss this in detail in class.

Bomb calorimeter has inner metal chamber = fixed volume

Coffee cup calorimeter is not sealed = volume can change

It might also be important to note that in a bomb calorimeter there can be change in pressure while in a coffee cup calorimeter there is no change in pressure. We would use coffee cup calorimeters to directly find enthalpies since pressure is not changing and we would use bomb calorimeters to directly find internal energies since volume is constant.
