Enthalpy and Entropy
Can someone please explain to me the difference between enthalpy and entropy, and if there's any relation between the two? Thanks so much!

Re: Enthalpy and Entropy
Enthalpy is the sum of internal energy and is the amount of energy released or absorbed during a reaction. Entropy, however, is the measurement of the disorder of a system. I don't think that there is any direct relationship between the two. Hope this helps!
Re: Enthalpy and Entropy
Enthalpy is the measurement of the sum of the internal energy and the product of the pressure and volume of a system. Entropy, on the other hand, is simply a measurement of disorder in the universe. Although we haven't covered it yet, the equation G = H - TS partially relates enthalpy H and entropy S in the measurement of G, or Gibbs free energy. T represents temperature.
