What do bounds V1 & V2 represent in the equation and also concecptually?

They represent the initial and final volume. In expansion work, the system is either being compressed or expanded, and these changes from initial to final volume are being represented by V1 or V2.

Instead of V1 and V2, the textbook uses Vinit and Vfinal which are self explanatory and mean the initial and final volume of the system. Please clearly give the equation you are talking about and where it is from.
