Units for Entropy

Postby Elizabeth Ignacio 1C » Sat Jan 27, 2018 3:05 pm

Why are the units for entropy sometimes J/K and other times J/K/mol?

I believe it depends on whether the question is asking you for the entropy per mole of the substance or not.

Yeah I think the standard units are just J/K and J/K/mol is used when the question asks for the entropy per mole.

sometimes per mole means per the coefficient of each element of the equation.

It depends on the question, whether it is asking entropy per mole or not.
