Adiabatic system

Aside from there being no heat transfer, is there any other important characteristic we should know about adiabatic systems?

I think adiabatic just means that there is no heat flow (insulated) therefore q = 0 and the change in internal energy (delta u) = w

An adiabatic system is also an insulated system where there is no heat flow, so q=0.

Adiabatic systems are isolated systems, in which both energy/heat and matter are not transferred to the surroundings. Therefore q=0 and delta U=w (using the equation delta U = q + w)

adiabatic process is one that occurs without transfer of heat or matter between a thermodynamic system and its surroundings. In an adiabatic process, energy is transferred to its surroundings only as work.

I believe adiabatic systems can also occur in closed systems, since even if no heat is being transferred, work can still be transferred as energy, making it a closed system.

Adding on to the post above, pg. 268 of the textbook says that in an adiabatic system, the change in internal energy is equal to the work done.

An example of adiabatic system could be when change in temperature = 0, no heat flow(q=0), but work is being done, like in an insulated container with the gas filled in it expanding.
