What is residual entropy and how is it different from regular entropy?

Residual entropy is a specific type of entropy and is the same as positional entropy in which the entropy is based upon the arrangement of molecules or atoms.

To add to this, residual entropy is the difference in entropy between a non-equilibrium state system and a system near absolute zero (where the entropy should theoretically be zero.)

Is there a difference in the way we would calculate them?

Is residual entropy related to how there is a standard entropy of formation for gas molecules like O2 that are already in their standard state?
