Isolated
How can an isolated system have a change in temperature but no heat transfer since isolated means no energy or matter exchanged with the surroundings?

So if we go back to the drawn system or like lets say a bomb calorimeter right? The whole system itself is isolated, but the things thats inside the bomb calorimeter and the isolated system are not isolated. So that's why there can be a change in temperature within the individual system thats within the isolated system.

There isn't any exchange in heat or matter with the surroundings of an isolated system, but heat can still be generated inside the system itself. This change is isolated because it is contained within the system, and the heat is not released into the surroundings.

this is like the question in the quiz where petrol was burned in an isolated chamber. the combustion reaction generated heat but the heat didn't escape from the system or enter from the surroundings.

Heat is contained in the isolated system so it changes within itself. The only thing that cant be changed is volume because its constant

The isolated system is able to have reactions occur within its walls. It does not however allow for the environment to play a role as in the exchange of energy or matter by/to the system to the environment. It works like a hydro flask with ice, after many hours the ice will melt and there would be a temperature change but it isn't affected by its surroundings as a cup with water would (open).
