Write balanced half reactions for the redox reaction of an acidified solution of potassium permanganate and iron(II) chloride.

Are we supposed to look in appendix 2B for this or are we supposed to somehow figure out the skeletal half reaction? Also, how do we know which half reaction to use if we use appendix 2B?

I was also quite confused by this question. In the solutions manual, they used the values of permanganate and the iron for finding half-reactions in appendix 2B but I wasn't sure on why.
