Order in Cell Diagrams

Postby veneziaramirez 3I » Sun Feb 18, 2018 8:09 pm

Is there a specific order of the phases or does it not matter?

Can you please clarify? In what context do you mean?

I do not believe that the phase order matters. Just remember that the anode is on the left of the salt bridge and the cathode is on the right.

As long as you put the reactant first and the product second, the order of phases should line up

same question. I noticed that some cell diagrams put reactant of the half-rxn first and then product, while others put product of the half-rxn first and then reactant. Just want to know whether the order matters. And how are we supposed to know which is the reactant and which is product in the half-rxn of a cell diagram. Thanks!
