### PH meter

can someone please explain what a PH meter is? An what all is known and what we are trying to find using the PH meter hence what is unknown?

I'm pretty sure your just looking for the pH of the cell. So you would use the concentrations to find [H+] and then use -log[H+] to find the pH.

A pH meter is a device used to measure the pH of a solution/system. So yes, it follows that the question you're referring to is wanting you to find the pH! It would help more if you would provide the question you're trying to answer.

A pH meter is an example of an ion-selective electrode. The pH meter has a thin-walled glass membrane that measures the difference in [H+] from in the standard inside the pH meter and the solution is is placed in. This [H+] difference is used to find the pH of the solution.
